Pan-Tones

The Pan-Tones are a music and dance ensemble from Denton, TX. Their performances feature classical music, jazz, cumbia, schottische, hula, polka, cha-cha, and more. This inclusive definition of dance invites movement for people of diverse abilities and backgrounds.

They received a grant from the Greater Denton Arts Council for Dance Night, a monthly event that combines dance instruction and creative movement with live music by the Pan-Tones.

They have shared their interdisciplinary approach at colleges, elementary schools, theaters, concert halls, and arts festivals across Texas, including UT Arlington Opera, Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, and McKinney Philharmonic.

Flutist, accordionist, arranger, and dancer Alyse Hokamp began her musical training as a ballerina before becoming a concert flutist. She has written frankly about her artistic journey on her blog since 2019. Her writing has been featured in The Flute View and on the Flute Center of New York blog.

Guitarist, composer, actor, and arranger Robert Hokamp won the International Polka Association Young Songwriter’s Award in 2024 for To The Hills, recorded by the Pan-Tones. He has been a member of Brave Combo since 2015, and performed the Role of Captain von Trapp in Theatre Denton’s production of The Sound of Music.
